∿Delta ∿Theta ∿Alpha – a holistic sound journey
November 14, 2021 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
ReTribe community invite you to experience a special holistic sound journey with Shane Aspegren of ONDO sound at The Tannery HK. A natural gateway toward meditative states and cell stimulation, the ONDO holistic sound sessions are specifically designed to trigger the body and mind’s innate self-healing capabilities through aural stimulation and physical vibration.
The sound baths use traditional vibratory instruments such as large meditation gongs and singing bowls as the basis, while often incorporating subtly (and sometimes intensely) amplified elements—sine waves and custom instruments such as the Duofluctus, which vibrates its strings through electro-magnetic resonance.
The combined elements create an encompassing and stimulating blanket of sound that works on both an auditory and physically vibratory level.
The group meditation setting is also beneficial for many individuals, helping to establish a sense of connectivity. Group sessions are typically concluded with a brief discussion about the experience.
What to expect:
We will start with a guided movement and meditation practice before going into the sound journey, followed by simple vegetarian food prepared by Matthew Teague of Baba’s life.
What to bring:
- Yoga Matt
- Water bottle
- Reusable cutlery and food bowl
About Shane Aspegren
Shane’s unique approach to a holistic sound practice combines his multifaceted background—as a contemporary artist, composer, and experimental musician—with training in therapeutic sound traditions alongside an ongoing research into modern wave science.
Since the early 2000s, Aspegren has explored various yogic practices, which led to a deep interest in meditation and the perceived experience of the human mind & body. After diving deeper into wave phenomena for a series of installations and performances, this eventually led to the development of ONDO, a natural bridge between his creative and holistic interests.
In addition to his more extensive portfolio, Aspegren has training in Meridian Yoga Therapy, Integrated Vibrational Therapy, and is registered with Yoga Alliance as RYT-200.
